TikTok Stars Flock to Substack's Multimedia Incubator Amid Ban Concerns

Web3, AI and the creator economy in under 3 minutes per week!

Hey, Alpha fam! Happy Sunday! I’m heading to DC to moderate this panel on the future of AI and media at the National Press Club on Monday.

Now, let’s get into some stories you should be paying attention to!

A group of TikTok creators have joined Substack's year-long incubator program, announced last month by the Substack Creator Studio, to expand their reach and businesses.

Creators like Coco Mocoe, Gabi Jones, and others are looking for stable platforms amid potential TikTok bans.

“Substack is evolving into video and beyond because the people who want to benefit from this model are pushing us forward,” said Austin Tedesco, Substack’s head of video and podcasting, in a Washington Post interview.

Justice Jackson, a natural hair care expert with 2.7 million TikTok followers, noted, “Substack’s the first platform that I’ve seen that gives you the ability to reach all of your subscribers or followers. There is no algorithm game. If someone subscribes, they see your content. Which you can’t say for pretty much any other platform.”

Substack allows creators to charge subscription fees for video, audio, and text content, providing a reliable income stream and a direct connection to their audience. This approach ensures that creators maintain control over their content and audience, regardless of algorithms and changes on other platforms.

As digital landscapes shift, platforms like Substack (and Beehiiv) are paying attention and adapting, offering creators the stability and direct audience connection they seek.

🔥 My Hot Take: I'm surprised more platforms aren’t seizing this moment when creators are actively seeking new opportunities for community growth and revenue. Regardless of whether other platforms make a move, let's use this time to innovate and experiment. You’ll never regret trying something new, but you might regret not knowing what could have happened if you did.

Apple Intelligence is a feature recently announced at their WWDC conference, designed to enhance the functionality and user experience of Apple devices through AI.

It integrates with various Apple services to provide personalized recommendations, automate tasks, and improve overall device performance.

Apple Intelligence will be integrated into almost all of the Apple devices if you have an iPad or Mac with an M1 chip or later, including iPads with an A-series chip. As for iPhones, only the iPhone 15 or 15 Pro Max will support Apple Intelligence.

However, Elon Musk has expressed concerns over this integration, fearing potential data privacy risks. In response, he has threatened to remove Apple devices from his businesses, highlighting the ongoing debate about privacy and AI in tech.

I’m Bullish On… 💪

Mojo is a “microdose for your modern life.” I first discovered these gummies, which are made of functional mushrooms and adaptogens, at a wellness event in LA hosted by Ian Davis. The founder, Stefany Nieto, is a fellow Canadian who has worked diligently to create the best formula with high-quality ingredients that help with focus and energy while adapting to your needs. I love taking one when I need to concentrate on work tasks or get through menial chores. You can try them out and get them online HERE.
