Cointelegraph Said What?!?

This Week in Web3...

🍿 The Great DeGods reset. Frank, the founder of the DeGods and y00ts NFT collections, announced a complete reset for DeGods NFTs earlier this month. The team reset all the art on DeGods to their original Season 1 art, but are allowing holders to switch between the three variations.

🎉 Making allowlists easier. Web3 thought leader punk 6529 announced the release of EMMA (Editor for Managing MultiPhase Allowlists), a tool that makes creating and managing multi-phase allowlists easier. Artists and teams can give previous holders a chance at the work first, without having to undergo mostly manual list management. EMMA is also an open-source initiative, allowing for community participation and adjustment.

🤦🏻‍♀️ Cointelegraph’s major misstep. On Monday, Cointelegraph tweeted that the SEC had approved a Bitcoin ETF for Blackrock, which pumped Bitcoin to $30K. The story turned out to be false!

🌕 Reddit kills their blockchain points. In a surprise announcement by Reddit, the platform has decided to discontinue their Community Points program. Users are extremely frustrated over the decision, especially since the token representing the points, $MOON, is down ~90% with the news. To make things worse, some Reddit moderators dumped their tokens before the announcement.

Hot Take 🔥

This is surprising considering how well Reddit collectibles (NFT’s) and the token had done but might be a sign of their fear of any liabilities this could have caused with the SEC.

🇫🇷 France looks to establish a regulatory framework for NFTs and crypto gaming. France’s National Assembly is looking at a groundbreaking law focused on games that contain crypto and NFT-based elements. The law differentiates between crypto gaming and crypto gambling, and includes strict guidelines around influencers and minors.
