I am sure most of us are still recovering from our holiday daze and getting back into the rhythm of work and routine.
January brings an invigorating air of renewal – a collective desire to reboot our lives, align our diets, and reignite our fitness regimes. Another year to work on becoming the best version of ourselves. However, according to research, only 9% of Americans actually keep their resolutions.
New habits and routines are hard to keep because you literally require your brain, which is why I recommend the book “Atomic Habits.”
So, as we step briskly into 2024, let's gear up to be ahead of the curve in the health and wellness arena— a 5.6 trillion dollar industry.
Here's a look into the trends you should watch out for in 2024.
1. Longevity: The New Wellness Mantra
2024 is poised to emphasize longevity, encouraging a life of sustained health and vitality. This trend is set to revolutionize the wellness landscape, with a shift towards comprehensive approaches that include biohacks like infrared light treatments and cryotherapy.
All eyes have been on the centurion lifestyle from locations worldwide that are known as Blue Zones. The Netflix series “Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones” is also a must-watch if you don’t want to read about it. The concept of longevity is not just about adding years to your life but making sure that regardless of your age, you are ensuring that every moment is lived with optimal health and happiness.
2. Holistic Health
Holistic health is taking center stage, moving beyond just physical fitness. This approach integrates mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being, ensuring a balanced lifestyle.
It's a recognition that true wellness encompasses every aspect of our existence, from the food we eat to the thoughts we nurture.

3. Sustainable Wellness
Sustainability in wellness isn't just a trend; it's a necessity. 2024 will see a surge in climate-conscious practices like regenerative agriculture and environmentally-friendly packaging. This trend reflects a growing awareness that personal health is deeply intertwined with the health of our planet.
4. Wearable Tech
Wearable technology continues its upward trajectory, becoming more than just a fitness tracker. These devices are evolving into holistic health monitors, offering insights into every facet of well-being. These new tech models are being used to improve sleep, meditation, diet, and more.
According to the Peloton Report, 40% of people say they would consider using AI-powered personalization and biometric measurement tools in their fitness routines.
I’m a fan of the Oura ring, which tracks your heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen rate, body temperature, and quality of sleep.
5. AI in Wellness
AI will bring more personalization and accessibility for those who might not be as open to traditional mental health services. Expect to see more AI coaching and mindfulness platforms being used.
6.Digital Wellness
As we see more studies coming out about the impacts of our devices and social media on our mental health, digital wellness is going to be prioritized and top of mind.
Some Ideas:
Use apps to limit your daily screen time and curate your feed to include positive content.
Establish phone-free zones, especially during meals or before bedtime, to encourage real-world engagement.
No blue light an hour before bed, according to sleep experts, and giving yourself time before checking your device in the morning is key, too.
